Course Overview

The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Sainik Schools Society for admission to classes 6th and 9th in 33 Sainik Schools located in different parts of India. In the preparation process, students can enhance their academic skills and instil discipline crucial for an armed forces career.

Age Criteria

  • For admission to Class 6th, the candidate's age should be between 10 to 12 years as on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought.
  • For admission to Class 9th, the candidate's age should be between 13 to 15 years as on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought.

Qualification Criteria

  • For admission to Class 6th, the candidate must have passed Class 5th from a recognised school.
  • For admission to Class 9th, the candidate must have passed Class 8th from a recognised school.
  • Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards the Sainik Schools Society specified.

Exam Syllabus

The AISSEE is a pen-and-paper-based test consisting of multiple-choice questions. The exam is conducted in two papers - Paper I and Paper II.

Paper I

The paper is for candidates seeking admission to Class 6th and consists of questions from the following subjects:

  • Mathematics - 50 Marks
  • Language - 25 Marks
  • General Knowledge - 25 Marks
Paper II

The paper is for candidates seeking admission to Class 9th and consists of questions from the following subjects:

  • Mathematics - 50 Marks
  • Science - 25 Marks
  • Social Studies - 25 Marks

The duration of each paper is 2.5 hours. The question paper tests the candidate's Mathematics, Language, General Knowledge, Science, and Social Studies ability.
